Bruce Willis in talks for GI: JOE 2: RETALIATION

Bruce Willis is currenlty in negotiations to join the cast of Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. THR reports that Willis would play "General Joe Colton, the man who in 1980s comic books starts the G.I. Joe strike team, called the ultimate freedom fighting force, and got the handle G.I. Joe."

The sequel is being directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura. If cast, Willis would join Channing TatumDwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Stevenson and RZA in the action film. Filming is slated to begin in New Orleans this month to meet the scheduled June 29, 2012 release date.

Willis will next be seen opposite Henry Cavill in the thriller, Cold Light of Day. He will also be seen in Rian Johnson's Looper.I think that Willis would be an awesome addition to the cast. I am starting to get excited for this film now. What are your thoughts?

According to General Colton’s 1994 file card, he graduated with the highest honors from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1960. He was recruited for Special Forces, and later became a Green Beret. In 1963, he was appointed by then President John F. Kennedy to create and command an “ULTIMATE freedom fighting force.” It was at this time that he received the code name G.I. Joe.

He later “retired” from active military duty at some point in the later 1960s. He later was placed as the head of a secret Strategic Defense Initiative installation in New York City. There he serves with the lead scientist, G.I. Jane, who originally maintained cover as a combat nurse.
