RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION secures Milla Jovovich, Paul W.S. Anderson

Bloody Disgusting just broke the rather expected news that Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson are diving back in to the world of RESIDENT EVIL. Anderson will direct, as usual, but this time he’s working from his own screenplay.

While these two are back for more, it looks like Sienna Guillory has been given the boot and will be replaced. No official word yet on who will play “Jill Valentine” but it does seem to come as a surprise since Guillory had previously tweeted that she’d be reprising her role.

Screen Gems have it set to hit theaters on September 14, 2012, which means they need to lock in the cast soon if they want to be ready to shoot in October. This pic will take Alice from Toronto, Canada to Tokyo, Japan which should provide an interesting back up for the zombie battles.

Given the box office success of the franchise, it should come as no surprise that they keep churning these out. And with the popularity of zombies only on the rise, this probably won’t be the last RESIDENT EVIL film.
