WUNDERBAR! Germany Lifts 17 Year Ban On DOOM
You may think German kids have it made....their roads have no speed limits, no drinking age, sexy underground rave parties, you get the picture. The truth is many geeky Hansel's were left with a huge gap in their gaming appreciation when the German Bundesprufstelle (Department of Media Harmful to Young Person's but the translation sounds so diabolical) deemed the graphics in the original DOOM were too violent for the innocent eyes of their youths.
It seems the ban was lifted when those in charge realized far more violent games were now available to children...
There are still some restrictions however, as DOOM II has been edited for it's incorporation of two Wolfenstein levels in which THE GERMANS WERE ON VACATION!
