MONEYBALL'S Michael Lewis to pen LIAR'S POKER for Warner Bros.

Movie Warner Bros. by

Author Michael Lewis (Moneyball) is set to be more involved in his next project. THR reports that Lewis will write the script for his novel, Liar's Poker for Warner Bros. The book is his "1989 account of working as a bond trader at Salomon Brothers in the go-go '80s." The project already has directors, John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (Crazy, Stupid, Love) attached to direct. The film is being produced by Bill Gerber, with Courtenay Valenti ioverseeing the film for Warners.

With the success of The Blind Side and Moneyball, Lewis is in high demand right now. Liar's Poker is his first novel, and it's been in development at Warners since the early 1990s. With the economic crisis currently going on the project has been movign forward lately. Lewis also has his 2010 novel, The Big Short in development about the 2008 financial crisis for Paramount. That project will reunite Lewis with Brad Pitt, who will be producing under his Plan B banner.

This project sounds like it could be pretty cool. What are your thoughts?
