Disney Developing Female Detective Film

Disney is prepping to put a new untitled female detective film project into production. The studio acquired the pitch from screenwriter Ashley Bradley who's new to the business. The film is also set to be produced by Green Lantern co-scribe and TV creator Marc Guggenheim (FlashForward and No Ordinary Family).

Of course we don't have much information on what the story will be about but we do know that it "revolves around a young woman who finds out she is the descendant of a legendary detective and is forced to take up the sleuthing mantle." I can only guess at this point that she will end up being related to the great Sherlock Holmes.

As soon as more details are revealed we'll let you know! In the mean time do any of you have any thoughts on other historical detectives the main character could be related to?
