Robert Duvall to Join Tom Cruise in ONE SHOT

Robert Duvall is in final negotiations to join the cast of Tom Cruise's new film One Shot which will be the first time the actors have been on screen together since Days of Thunder. Duvall will join the previously cast Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins and Alexia Fast.

Christopher McQuarrie is set to direct the film from a script that he wrote, and is an adaptation of Lee Childs' 2005 Jack Reacher novel. The story centers on Reacher (Cruise), "an ex-Army cop who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five people."

There's no word on who Duvall will play but according to the report it's a small but significant role to the main character. Duvall is an old badass who will make a great addition to the film.
