X-FILES creator returns to TV with new mystery drama for MRC

X-files fans rejoice, Chris Carter (the shows creator) is returning to TV. Deadline reports that Carter is set to write, direct and executive produce a mystery drama with a female lead for MRC. The company is not wasting any time, and plans to pitch the show to the networks in the next few weeks. Carter has reportedly had the idea for the action series for a while and pitched it to MRC.

MRC recently sold the David Fincher/Kevin Spacey drama House Of Cards to Netflix with a two-season order. Carter has the upcoming thriller Fencewalker, but aside from that has been out of the spotlight. There has been recent talk of a  potential third X-Files movie.
