Kurt Russell to Replace Kevin Costner in DJANGO UNCHAINED

It looks like Kurt Russell will be reuniting with Quentin Tarantino in his next film Django Unchained. Russell is currently in talks to take on the character that Kevin Costner was supposed to play. Russell would join Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz

The characters name is Ace Woody, "the sadistic trainer of the male fighting slaves who entertain the white patrons of Candyland as well as the female slaves who are forced to be prostitutes. The club and ranch are owned by Calvin Candie (DiCaprio) and Ace Woody is the one who pits the "mandingo" fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don't measure up."

Russell worked with Tarantino on the film Death Proof, which wasn't the directors finest moment. But, I think Russell is a great choice to take over Costner's spot, this is a role I think he'll be perfect for. He's just an all around awesome actor.

As previously reported, the story follows Django (Fox), a freed slave, who, under the protection and care of a German bounty hunter (Waltz) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner (DiCaprio). This film also deals with racism and is handled in a way unlike anything we've ever seen in a film before. According to someone that read the script, "it’s a 100 percent pure popcorn and revenge flick, it is pure genius in the way it takes on the evil slave owning south. Think of what he did with the Nazis in Inglorious and you’ll get a sense of what he’s doing with slave owners and slave overseers in this one."

What do you think about Russell possibly joining the cast of this film?
