Chris Tucker to end acting hiatus with role in THE SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK

Chris Tucker looks to be ending his acting hiatus with a role in The Silver Linings Playbook. Variety reports that Tucker is in talks to join David O. Russell's adaptation and is said to be circling a key role in 20th Century Fox's comedy Neighborhood Watch.

Bradley Cooper is starring as "a former high school teacher who's institutionalized for depression and then released into the care of his mother. He tries to win back his ex-wife but becomes involved with an eccentric neighbor with problems of her own." Jennifer Lawrence is set to play the neighbor, while Robert De Niro will play Cooper's father. Tucker will play "Danny, Cooper's spirited friend who lives in a mental hospital. He escapes on several occasions to visit the troubled protag, as the duo have a special understanding of each other." The adaptation of Matthew Quick's nove will be produced by Harvey Weinstein.

I hated the Rush Hour movies, but Tucker will always be my favorite in Friday. I can see him pulling off this role in Silver Linings and would love to see him in Neighborhood Watch. What are your thoughts?
