Fox will co-finance Steven Spielberg's ROBOPOCALYPSE with DreamWorks
Steven Spielberg's big sci-fi robot film project Robopocalypse is one step closer to getting made. DreamWorks and 20th Century Fox are currently in the process of closing a deal where they will co-finance the film. The project was officially announced in November of last year, before the book was even finished.
Robopocalypse was adapted by screenwriter Drew Goddard, from the novel written by Daniel H. Wilson. The story was described as "a cautionary tale of man versus machine" and the author of the book has a background in robotics and artificial intelligence, which helps ground this story "with a frightening level of realism and he has created an exhilarating story that we think audiences will really respond to." It follows a robot uprising and an epic scale war.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Spielberg has envisioned for this movie. This story has the potential to be an incredibly epic move, and if anyone can bring it to life the way it was meant to, it's Spielberg. What do you think?
