Pitch Black Director to take on THE LEONARDO JOB
Pitch Black director David Twohy is set to direct a new action film from a screenplay that he wrote called The Leonardo Job. Here's an official description of the film,
An action thriller about the heist of the "lost" Leonardo da Vinci painting "The Battle of Anghiari"; the story involves two rival master thieves hired to go to Florence to track down the "mythical" painting. These experts use high tech and old tricks to prove the painting exists and pinpoint its location – hidden behind another masterpiece. They are forced to combine skills when their schemes to steal the painting get more complicated and dangerous after they discover they are not the only ones pursuing the hidden treasure.
I love the sound of this, we don't see enough good heist films these days, and The Leonardo Job sounds like it could be a great movie. I think the concept is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.
Twohy is also attached to direct the third Chronicles of Riddick movie, there no work on which film project he will end up doing first, but I image it will be Riddick for the fact that it's been in development longer.
What are your thoughts on the new project?
