Anchor Bay Picks up Distribution Rights to the Remake of 13

Anchor Bay has picked up the the U.S. distribution right to a movie thriller called 13, which is a remake of the Gela Babluani film 13 Tzameti. The original films director is actually the director of the remake as well.

The film boasts a great cast of actors that includes Sam Riley, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Ray Winstone, Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Shannon, Ben Gazzara, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham.

The story follows a desperate man who steals an envelope promising a mysterious job that can make him a fortune. Assuming a false identity, he discovers he’s enlisted to be a numbered participant in an underworld Russian roulette competition where gamblers place bets on the contestants. The potential payoff is so high he goes through with it despite the long odds of survival.

I'm glad to see this movie get distribution because it looks like a pretty awesome movie. According to the co-Productions Kevin Kasha,

There was a trailer for the film that leaked out last year, but has since been removed from the internet, but it was a pretty awesome trailer!
