RE5IDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION - Official Synopsis Revealed
Screen Gems has released an official synopsis for the Paul W.S. Anderson directed film Re5ident Evil: Retribution, and yes, they added a "5" to the title in place of the "S". The film stars Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez. Here's the full synopsis:
The wildly successful film franchise adaptation that has grossed nearly $700 million worldwide to the popular video game series, "Resident Evil," returns in its highly anticipated fifth installment, "Re5ident Evil: Retribution" in state-of-the art 3D.
The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. I've enjoyed watching the Resident Evil films over the years, but the last one that was released in 3D was pretty freakin' awful. I really hope this this movie isn't going to be as bad. All I ask is to be entertained. I can't wait to see what this "mind-blowing" revelation is though!
The movie hits theaters on September 14th, 2012, and also stars Sienna Guillory, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, and Li Bingbing.
