James Badge Dale to Play The Lone Ranger's Brother

The Lone Ranger is set to go into production next month and is on the verge of adding a new cast member. Deadline reports that James Badge Dale is in talks to play the older brother of the title character (played by Armie Hammer). He would play the role of Dan Reid, "an ex-ranger and hero of the Old West." Gore Verbinski is directing the film that also stars Johnny Depp, Ruth Wilson, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, Helena Bonham Carter, and Dwight Yoakum

Dale recently starred opposite Michael Fassbender in Shame, and will next be seen in Joe Carnahan's The Grey. He recently wrapped Marc Forster's World War Z and the Robert Zemeckis-directed Flight. This casting will mean that Dale will not be able to play John McClane Jr. in A Good Day to Die Hard
I think that The Lone Ranger should not even be made, because it has too bloated of a budget. I am sure that this film will look great and have a gigantic scope, but I am not interested in seeing this in theaters. If the trailer blows me away, I could change my mind.

What do you think of Dale being cast in this film? Are you looking forward to seeing The Lone Ranger?
