THE AVENGERS Story Will Be Told from the Perspective of Captain America

I remember hearing something very early on in the development process of The Avengers that the whole story would be told from the perspective of Captain America. That bit of information has now been confirmed by writer and director Joss Whedon in recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. Here's what he had to say:

I set out with a very simple problem: There is no reason for these people to be in the same movie. So that's what my movie has to be about. So much of the movie takes place from Steve Rogers' perspective, since he's the guy who just woke up and sees this weird ass world. Everyone else has been living in it.

This approach to the story makes perfect sense. I don't think it will take away from any of the other main characters in the story either. It's just a focus point on telling the story, and what better character to use than the guy who has no idea what is going on in this new time?

Chris Evans will be pack as Steve Rogers and Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, and Samuel L. Jackson are all returning to reprise their roles.

The epic superhero move will hit theaters on May 4th, 2012. What are your thoughts on the film focusing on Rodgers and his perspective on what is going on?
