Bill Hader, Josh Gad, and Kate Hudson Cast in DreamWorks Animation's ME & MY SHADOW

DreamWorks Animation has found its voice cast for Me & My Shadow. THR reports that the studio has cast Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon), Bill Hader (SNL), and Kate Hudson in the animated feature. Me & My Shadow will be the directorial debut of Alessandro Carloni, who served as the story head for How to Train Your Dragon. Kung Fu Panda 2's Melissa Cobb will produce on the film.

The story centers "on Stan, a shadow (Hader) who yearns for a more exciting life than being attached to a timid human named Stanley Grubb (Gad). When a crime in the shadow community puts both of their lives in danger, Stan is forced to take control of Stanley, thrusting both of them into an adventure featuring a shadowy villain, who intends to lead a rebellion to take over the human world. Hudson will voice Grubb’s potential love interest in the real world."
This original film will be a mix of CGI and traditional hand-drawn animation. The shadow world will be hand drawn, and the human world will be CG, making it unlike anything seen before. Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember are co-writing the screenplay based on an original draft by Steve Bencich and Ron J. Friedman. DreamWorks Animation has set a November 13, 2013 release date for the movie.
How to Train Your Dragon should have won an Oscar for its animation. I am excited to see how this combination of CGI and hand-drawn animation works. What are your thoughts on this news?
