Disney to Develop ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY

Disney is set to produce and develop the live-action big screen adaptation of the classic kids book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. The movie was previous set up at 20th Century Fox, but they let it go last month, and it ended up in Disney's lap.

The movie is being developed by writer/director Lisa Cholodenko who also made the film The Kids Are All Right, and Steve Carell is attached to star in it.

The story was written by Judith Viorst, and it follows a young boy who endures a frustrating day that begins with him waking up to find gum in his hair and ends with him threatening to move to Australia. Other characters include Alexander's two older brothers and their parents.

This story fits perfectly with the Disney brand, so I hope it turns out as entertaining as the book is.

Here's a short description of the book:

Alexander knew it was going to be a terrible day when he woke up with gum in this hair.

And it got worse...

His best friend deserted him. There was no dessert in his lunch bag. And, on top of all that, there were lima beans for dinner and kissing on TV!
