Bryan Singer to Replace Matthew Vaughn as Director for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST?!

So here's a bit of surprising news for you! Matthew Vaughn has decided not to come back and direct the X-Men: First Class sequel Days of Future Past! Apparently he dropped out to direct another movie for FOX, a big screen adaptation of Mark Millar's comic book, Secret Service, which Vaughn also co-created. There's no other reason as to why he left the project.

I'm kind of shocked by all this, but even more shocking is that the studio is looking to bring back Bryan Singer to replace him! That's right! The man who launched the X-Men movie franchise might be coming back to direct Days of Future Past. This actually kind of make a lot of sense, especially because there will most likely be a time travel crossover with Singer's previous X-Men films. Nothing is set in stone yet, but this is an ideal situation for the studio.

I actually think this news is kind of exciting. I loved Vaughn's First Class, and I would have loved to see him direct the sequel, but I actually think it's pretty cool that Singer will be coming back to the franchise! I loved Singer's X-Men movies as well. Vaughn will still be on as the writer and producer of the movie, he's just going to take on another cool comic project. You can read more about it by clicking here.

Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence are all set to reprise their roles in the film that Fox hopes to release on July 18th, 2014.

What do you think about Vaughn dropping out and possibly being replaced by Bryan Singer?
