Clooney Snags Daniel Craig, John Goodman, Bill Murray and More for THE MONUMENTS MEN

Looks like George Clooney is swinging for the fences with his next directorial effort.

After The Ides of March was rather unfairly ignored at the Oscars, Clooney is gearing up for his next movie, a historical heist film called The Monuments Men that tracks a group of art historians and museum curators who join together to steal precious art back from the Nazis, who originally stole it.

Deadline has the casting report, and get a load of these names: Daniel Craig, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett, Bob Balaban, Jean Dujardin, Hugh Bonneville and Bill Freaking Murray have all signed on to star alongside Clooney himself, who co-wrote the film with producing partner Grant Heslov. Not only that, the behind the scenes talent is going to be the same as on Argo, which Clooney and Heslov produced, and that includes the score being done by Alexandre Desplat.

Quite the ragtag group of actors he has there, and Clooney's directorial vision has only become more precise as the years have gone on, so I'm expecting great things from this one. I still can't get over the fact that Bill Murray is going to be in a great ensemble like this that has nothing to do with Wes Anderson.

What about you? Stoked to see what Clooney and these actors can bring to the table with The Monuments Men?
