Paramount Picks Up Michael Bay's Found Footage Project

A couple of first time writers and a director making his feature debut hit it big today, with Paramount Pictures picking up their project titled, Almanac. THR reports that Paramount is looking to move aggressively with the film, that has been in development over at Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller's Platinum Dunes for the past year. Bay and his cohorts are attached to produce the project.

No information is given on the story, penned by first-time writers Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan, other than that it is intended to be a found-footage project. AFI grad Dean Israelite, will make Almanac his feature directorial debut. Israelite just so happens to be the cousin of director Jonathan Liebesman, who is attached to direct Ninja Turtles for Platinum Dunes and Paramount. I'd love to cry nepotism -- not that Hollywood isn't notoriously full of that -- but Israelite seems to have some cred, winning several student Emmy awards. You can check out the trailer for the last one he won for titled, Acholiland.

With the title being Almanac, anyone care to speculate what the film will be about?
