Chris Hemsworth Talks about Alan Taylor's THOR 2 Style
Thor: The Dark World is currently in the middle of production, and from what I've seen from the set photos it looks like it's going to be pretty awesome! In the most recent issue of the magazine Prestige Hong Kong, Chris Hemsworth talks about how much he's enjoying Alan Taylor's directing style and the new grounded tone that he's bringing to the world of Asgard.
Yeah, I love the way he adds an incredibly organic element to the fantastical world of Thrones, and I think that’s what Thor could benefit from. It’s grounded in reality, no matter how mythical or science-fiction-like it becomes. There’s a truth to it all. Certainly, working with him now, you can see he doesn’t want Thor or the Asgardians to seem like some distant race or god-like. He still wants them to be relatable.
You can see that from the set design we've seen in the set photos that have been released, but it's going to be so cool to see it up on the big screen in all its finished glory.
The sequel will explore Thor's relationship with his father Odin, as well as Jane Foster. It will take the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and Earth, and continue the story of his evil step-brother, Loki, as he returns to Asgard to face justice for what he did to Earth in The Avengers. A new threat arises, called The Dark Elves that Thor must battle with the help of his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and the Warriors Three. It will also apparently dive more into the other parts of the Nine Realms of Norse mythology and the Marvel Comics universe.
The sequel also stars Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba, Zachary Levi, Stellan Skarsgard, Christopher Eccleston, Kat Dennings and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8th, 2013. Are you expecting Thor 2 to be better than the first one? What other parts of the Thor storyline would you like to see explored in the sequel? I'm hoping we see Enchantress!
