Grindhouse Style Trailer for THE CANYONS

Here's an interesting looking grindhouse style trailer for the indie noir thriller The Canyons. The movie comes from writer and director Paul Schrader (Cat People, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver) and writer Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) and it stars Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. 

The trailer gives us a very stylized look at the film, but I have no idea if the final cut of the film has the same grindhouse film style. The movie looks interesting and has a talented writing and directing team. I'm just not sure about the talent -- I don't care for Lohan, and I have no idea who the hell this James Deen guy is, but he's a porn star so I think it's safe to say that he can't act either. 

Here's the Synopsis:

THE CANYONS is a contemporary L.A. noir from director Paul Schrader, writer Bret Easton Ellis, and producer Braxton Pope about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20's and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.

I imagine we might end up seeing the film at Sundance this year. As of right now, there's no release date. Check out the trailer and let us know if it interests you.
