PS Plus Coming to the PS Vita Nov. 19 with a Buttload of Free Games

Sony announced at the Tokyo Game Show a few months ago that Playstation Plus was coming to the Vita at some point in the near future. The only thing that wasn't clear were the complete details of this awesome upgrade.

Well, on November 19th, the PS Vita will get updated 2.00 which will allow for the PS Plus functionality on the handheld device. This means that pre-existing PS Plus members will, for no additional cost, get the same features they get on their PS3 on their Vita (i.e. cloud saving, automatic updates, trophy syncing). Along with those features, Sony is dishing out a nice collection of free games for the Vita.

Free PS Vita Games for PS Plus Members:

  • Uncharted: Golden Abyss
  • Jet Set Radio HD
  • Wipeout 2048
  • Gravity Rush
  • Tales From Space: Mutant Blob Attack!

Free PSP Games:

  • Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions

For Vita users, this is the best time to get a PS Plus membership and for those who are not yet Vita owners, this is a great incentive. A 3 month subscription is $17.99 and a full year of service is $49.99. Now, remember, any time you cancel your subscription, those games will no longer be playable. Got it?

Seriously, this is a buttload of content for a low price. You're missing out if you don't subscribe. I have been using the service on my PS3 and I have been nothing but satisfied. I assume you will be, too.

Here is a video that explains the PS Plus business for the Vita.
