IRON MAN 3 - James Badge Dale Talks about Villains

Movie Iron Man 3 by Joey Paur

In a recent interview with ShowBizz411, actor James Badge Dale who plays Eric Savin in Iron Man 3, gave a brief analysis of the villainous characters in the film. He plays one of three villains in the movie. Savin is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army who ends up stepping on a land mine leading him to become a cyborg called Coldblood. Here's what he had to say,

Ben Kingsley (The Mandarin) is the mouthpiece. Guy Pearce (Aldrich Killian) is the brain. I’m the muscle. Being in a big CGI action movie is a weird departure for me. I’m more of a ‘put two guys in a room and we’ll just talk to each other’ style of actor. But I had a lot of fun. I learned to ride a horse. I got to beat up grown men in robot suits and shoot zombies with Brad Pitt.

You might remember Dale from the HBO World War II series The Pacific. He was awesome in that show, and I have no doubt he'll be great in Iron Man 3 as well. We still have yet to see what his character will look like in the film, so that's something to look forward to. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also talked about the Mandarin again in another Entertainment Weekly interview saying,

Our version of this character wants to push those buttons in everyone, in every different country, all around the world to his own ends.

And here's a little tidbit on Iron Patriot....

It is not Norman Osborne in there, as opposed to the comics. We were inspired by that look and that suit, and again symbolism – what those icons mean.

The movie will be released on May 3rd, 2013, and it will be gloriously epic! It's going to be great watching these three villains come after Tony Stark. In the end Stark is going to have the last laugh.

Synopsis:

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?
