Justified's Timothy Olyphant Cast in BONE TOMAHAWK!
Justified star Timothy Olyphant has been cast in the cannibal western thriller Bone Tomahawk. Olyphant is an awesome actor, and he will fit in perfectly with this movie. He will star along side Kurt Russell, Peter Sarsgaard (Green Lantern), Richard Jenkins (The Cabin in the Woods) and Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter). As you can see the movie has an awesome cast.
The movie will apparently be brutally violent and character-driven. The story follows four men, and their "attempt to rescue a group of captives from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes that live beyond the edge of civilization." Russell will play the sheriff and gunslinger, Jenkins will play an old cowboy, Sarsgaard will play a younger cowboy, and Carpenter play one of the captives. As for Olyphant, he'll play John Brooder, "an eloquent sharpshooter who moved to the frontier in order to satisfy the dark impulses that lie beneath his polished exterior."
As a fan of the western film genre, and many of the actors attached to this film project, I'm truly excited to see how it turns out! It definitely has the potential to be awesome! And while we're on the subject of Mr. Olyphant... I can't wait for the new season of Justified to start!
Screenwriter S. Craig Zahler (The Brigands of Rattleborge) will direct the horror-western from a script that he also wrote.
