SMALLVILLE'S Kristin Kreuk Joins BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk is returning to the CW. THR reports that the actress who played Lana Lang is set to to star in Beauty and the Beast. The project, "loosely based on the 1980s CBS series of the same name, is a modern-day romantic love story with a procedural twist." 

Gary Fieder is set to direct the pilot penned by Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper, who will also serve as executive producers alongside Paul J. Witt, C. Anthony Thomas, Ron Koslow and Bill Haber. Kreuk recently guest-starred on an arc on NBC’s Chuck and also starred in Vampire, which was shown at Sundance.

This sounds like a perfect role for Kreuk. I vaguely remember the original series, but I am sure that the CW take will be something that she will feel right at home with. What are your thoughts on this casting news?
