Mia Wasikowska To Star Opposite Jesse Eisenberg in THE DOUBLE

Movie Mia Wasikowska by

Richard Ayoade's (Submarine) adaptation of The Double has found a new cast member. THR reports (via Comingsoon) that Mia Wasikowska has joined the adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novella (The Double: A Petersburg Poem). As previously announced, Jesse Eisenberg is to star.

The original story was published in 1846 and focuses on "a file clerk who begins to lose his grip on sanity when a duplicate version of himself appears and begins to take over his life." Eisenberg will play the lead (Yakov Petrovich Golyadkin in the original, but likely to be re-named) as well as his doppelganger, while Wasikowska's role remains unconfirmed.

I like both Wasikowska and Eisenberg and think they will work together very well. Submarine was wonderful, and I highly recommend you get a chance to check it out. What are your thoughts on this casting news?
