VACATION Reboot Nabs HORRIBLE BOSSES Scribes To Write and Direct!
New Line is giving their new “Got To” writers, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, not only the writing job, but also the directors chair for the studios reboot/sequel of the Vacation franchise. Daley and Goldstein are the mastermind writers who gave us Horrible Bosses, now they are set to take on one of my favorite franchises.
THR broke this news to us; this is what they had to say:
Daley is an actor-turned-writer who has appeared in shows such as Freaks and Geeks,Kitchen Confidential and Bones. Goldstein worked on comedies such as The New Adventures of Old Christine and $#*! My Dad Says as a writer-supervising producer
Daley and Goldstein's Vacation script, first set up in 2009, plays like both a sequel and a reboot of the franchise that began with the 1983 Harold Ramis-directed comedy National Lampoon's Vacation and continued with European Vacation, Christmas Vacation andVegas Vacation. A now grown-up Rusty Griswold, the son of the Chevy Chase character in the original series, experiences a misadventure with his own family.
These two seem like they have the chops to keep these characters in our lives for years to come. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the Griswold family. I am on board, let us know what you think.
