Anthony Mandler To Direct THE LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME

Anthony Mandler is close to a deal to sign on to direct his first feature film. Deadline reports that he is in talks to direct The Last Days of American Crime, based on the graphic novel by Radical Publishing. He is best known for directing music videos for Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Eminem and commercials with David Beckham. He is currently attached to Vlad, a vampire saga written by Charlie Hunnam and produced by Plan B for Summit/Lionsgate.

Karl Gajdusek scripted the story that takes place in the future "as America responds to a second major terrorism attack by developing technology that eliminates the impulse to commit crimes of any kind. The protagonist leads a heist team that plans to pull off a final job five days before the signal rubs out the criminal instinct." Noomi Rapace was earlier announced as being attached, but it is not known if she is still on board.

Mandler is primed to make the jump and will likely take on this project of Vlad, but it is not know which one will happen first. This story sounds really cool, and I am interested in seeing it on the big screen regardless. Which film would you like to see Mandler direct more?
