Jake Gyllenhaal in Talks for a Dual Role in AN ENEMY

Movie Jake Gyllenhaal by

Jake Gyllenhaal may have found his next role after wrapping filming on End of Watch. Variety reports that he is talks to play two roles in Denis Villeneuve's indie film An Enemy. The script, based on Jose Saramego's novel The Double, is being penned by Javier Gullón. The film is described as being "dark and edgy," and the story focuses on "a dysfunctional history teacher who accidentally discovers his exact double on a rented DVD, seeks him out, and ends up turning both of their lives upside down."

The film is being produced by Niv Fichman of Rhombus Media and Miguel Angel Faura of Roxbury Pictures. The plan is for Villeneuve to film An Enemy before he shoots Prisoners, which stars Hugh Jackman. I liked Gyllenhaal in Source Code and think he will be great in this gritty role. Which is your favorite Gyllenhaal role to date?
