THE WALKING DEAD: THE GAME - New Trailer Unleashed

Telltale Games and Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman have revealed the first official full trailer for their upcoming game, The Walking Dead. It includes some great artwork leading up to showing us a bit of some gameplay action that I know you're interested in seeing.

I'm a big fan of zombie video games I simply enjoy killing the hell out of zombies. My only hope is that the game ends up being just as good as the TV series and comic. CEO, Dan Connors, does say that the new game will feature action, and that it just wont be the central focus of how the game plays out.

We’ll rarely give you a level where you blast through and have a horde of zombies attacking. It’s more like the franchise itself where people don’t usually go on zombie killing sprees, but you do have to take out zombies in different contexts.

In one of the scenes, there is a character stuck in a motel room. They’ve boarded themselves in and there are six or seven zombies on the scene. You need to stealthily go around and take out each zombie before the other zombies recognize there. That would be a situation where we would use a stealth and attack mechanic.

So far I like what I see, but I want to see more. Most importantly, I want to test drive this game of zombie destruction! Does this look like a zombie game worthy of carrying the title of The Walking Dead?

Check out the trailer below, it starts around the 8:45 mark

From the Press Release:

"This trailer really shows off how our artists have managed to take the 2D art style of the comic books and create a 3D world allowing fans to truly interact with Robert Kirkman's world for the very first time," said Dan Connors, Telltale co-founder and CEO. "We hope that fans will like what they see and be excited by the chance to join the cast of the game; we promise they'll die horribly!"

"Telltale has done a phenomenal job in making a game that meets the expectations of fans," added Kirkman. "Running around with a gun isn't what 'The Walking Dead' is about; it's about how people caught in an apocalypse deal with facing their own death every day, and the horrible choices they have to make to survive. Telltale's game series has captured the spirit of the comic books perfectly."

"The Walking Dead" is set in the world of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series. Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, has been given a chance for redemption in a world devastated by the undead. Players will experience events, meet people and visit locations that foreshadow the story of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes. "The Walking Dead" offers a tailored game experience – player actions, choices and decisions affect how the story plays out across the entire series.
