Jessica Biel Cast in THE MAKING OF PSYCHO with 4 Other Actors
Jessica Biel has officially taken on the role of Vera Miles in the fascinating Sacha Gervasi (Anvil, The Story of Anvil)directed film Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho. Miles played the character Lila Crane in the 1960 classic horror film. The other four actors in negotiations to join the film include Toni Collette, Danny Huston, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Michael Wincott.
According to Variety, "Collette will play Peggy Robertson, Hitchcock's longtime assistant who was fiercely protective of her boss. Huston is in talks to play Whitfield Cook, Alma's friend and collaborator who co-wrote Hitchcock's Stage Fright with her. Stuhlbarg will play Lew Wasserman, Hitchcock's charismatic agent and Hollywood-savvy friend. Wincott will play Ed Gein, the Wisconsin-based serial killer whom the Psycho book and movie are based on."
They'll join the previously cast Scarlett Johansson, who will play Janet Leigh, who was famously stabbed to death in the shower in the film. James D'Arcy was cast in the role of Anthony Perkins, who played Norman Bates. Anthony Hopkins is playing Hitchcock, and Helen Mirren plays his wife. The movie is based on Stephen Rebello's non-fiction book, which tells the true story of Hitchcock's attempts to finance Psycho. The story focuses on the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife.
As a fan of Hitchcock, I'm excited to see how this movie turns out. I'm interested in seeing a representation of the behind the scenes life of this iconic director.
