Portman, Bardem, Renner to Join Ridley Scott's THE COUNSELOR

Ridley Scott's The Counselor may be gaining some more cast members soon. Twitch reports that Javier Bardem, Jeremy Renner, and Natalie Portman are in talks to join the thriller based on Cormac McCarthy's script. If deals are inked, they would join Michael Fassbender in the thriller scheduled to start filming in May.

Bardem and Renner are reportedly in talks for the role of the villain in the film. In February, Brad Pitt and Bardem had been named as interested in the role, but now Pitt has dropped out and Renner is circling the part. Bardem worked well in McCarthy's landscape as the villain in No Country for Old Men, and Scott is reportedly interested. Portman is in talks to play the female lead of the film and is also Scott's preferred choice for the part.

No official offers have been made at this time, but with the May start date, that will likely happen pretty fast. I would love to see Bardem playing another villain, and believe that Renner and Portman are great possible additions as well. Are you interested in seeing these stars face off in a movie directed by Scott?
