I think it's safe to say that from the very beginning we knew the new Superman movie that Zack Snyder is directing was going to have a darker tone and edgier feel. The studio saw it work for Batman, so why not do the same thing for Superman?
Actor Dylan Sprayberry, who plays a young teenage Clark Kent in the film, has completed shooting his scenes in Illinois and British Columbia. Here's what he had to say about the movie in a recent interview when he was asked what people will love about the film...
When Zack [Snyder] and I were talking about it the first time, he was saying how Superman, they want to give it a more edgy feel like The Dark Knight but also make it more realistic and emotional so it's not just the all-American superhero that saves everyone. He has dilemmas and love and struggles throughout the whole movie, especially when he's a kid.
I have faith that Snyder's Man of Steel is going to give us a badass version of Superman that we'll all enjoy seeing. This faith is strengthened by the fact that Christopher Nolan help develop the story. I'm very excited to see what they are creating for us!
The movie also stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix, Laurence Fishburne and Richard Schiff.
The film will fly into theaters on June 14th, 2013. Do you think the team of Nolan and Snyder will give us the Superman movie we've all been waiting for?
