Trailer for the Ed Harris and Jennifer Connelly Film VIRGINIA
Here's the first trailer to a new dramedy called Virginia that comes from screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and stars Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly and Emma Roberts. This is Black's first attempt at directing a feature film; he blew up in Hollywood after he won an Academy Award for Milk. Since then he's written J. Edgar for Clint Eastwood and episodes of HBO's Big Love. Unfortunately, this movie doesn't really look that good, but maybe some of you might see something in it that I didn't.
Here's the synopsis for the film:
Jennifer Connelly stars in the title role as a beautiful yet unhinged single mother who struggles to raise her son Emmett (Harrison Gilbertson) while dreaming of escaping her small Southern boardwalk town. Her long time affair with the very married, Mormon Sheriff Richard Tipton (Ed Harris) is thrown into question when he decides to run for public office. Things are further complicated when Emmett begins a romantic relationship with Tipton’s daughter (Emma Roberts). Virginia and the town–populated by Amy Madigan, Toby Jones, Yeardley Smith–are full of secrets and everyone knows Virginia can only keep things together for so long. VIRGINIA is a funny, touching drama that looks at the American Dream and what it takes to keep it together.
The movie comes out on May 18th, 2012. Watch the trailer and let us know if it looks like something you'd be interested in seeing.
