AXE COP Headed To Fox's Animation Domination HD

TV FoxAnimated by

Axe Cop is headed to Fox for it's late-night Animation Domination HD block. THR reports that the show is being adapted from the web comic about an "ax-wielding police officer and his loyal team of allies as they fight bad guys." The web comic was created by then 5-year-old Malachai Nicolle and his 29-year-old brother, Ethan. The 90-minute animation block is being overseen by Nick Weidenfeld and Hend Baghdady, who used to be at Adult Swim.

Here is what Weidenfeld had to say about the show:

Axe Cop is one of the most creative, hilarious and naturally viral comic properties to emerge in the last decade. I've hoped someone would adapt Axe Cop for television for years and couldn't be happier that we get to be that someone. Axe Cop has all the makings of an iconic animated series and it will help set the tone for Fox’s new late-prime Saturday animation lineup.
Fox has ordered six quarter-hour episodes. The series first began on Jan. 25, 2010, and will launch on Saturdays at 11 p.m. starting next year. Be sure to check out the digital installments of Axe Cop which can be seen here.
