Brick director Rian Johnson has made an awesome looking sci-fi time travel film called Looper that is a must watch for any movie geek! It looks like Johnson has created an incredibly entertaining original film that has the potential to blow us away. The film focuses on a group of hitmen called Loopers, who kill people sent back into time so there is no evidence of their murder in the time they come from. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays one of these Loopers, and the story centers on his character who's hired to kill his older-self, played by Bruce Willis, from the future. Only problem is... Levitt's character hesitates, and his future-self escapes. Check out the trailer here if you haven't seen it yet!
Here's three new pics from the movie featuring Levitt, Emily Blunt and a behind the scenes set photo of the director. The film also stars Jeff Daniels and Piper Perabo. It's scheduled for release on September 28th, 2012.
Here's what the movie's about:
In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
