Ben Kingsley to Play Villain in IRON MAN 3!
It looks like Ben Kingsley is going to be taking on the role of the main villain in Shane Black's Iron Man 3! How awesome is that! The actor is in final negotiations for the role which has yet to be revealed, but Variety makes a point to say that it will not be Tony Stark's arch nemesis the Mandarine. The go on to say that "Kingsley’s character is involved in the spread of a virus through nanobots." This makes perfect sense as we've previously heard that this next Iron Man movie is loosely based on Warren Ellis’ Extremis comicbook series.
Kingsley is an amazing actor that's going to be perfect in this film. I guess there's two possible characters that he could end up playing. I guess it depends on what they end up taking from the Extremis storyline. He could end up playing a modified version of a character named Mallen who is the main villain of the story arc. Or he might end up playing a different version of a character named Dr. Aldrich Killian who only has a minor role in the story, as he kills himself after releasing the virus. Perhaps it's a combination of the two characters, or an all new character they came up with for the movie. We'll find out soon enough. What do you think about the actor joining Iron Man 3?
