DOCTOR STRANGE Movie to be Written by Zak Penn?
Earlier this year it was confirmed that Conan The Barbarian and Sahara screenwriters Thomas Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer completed a script for a live action Doctor Strange movie. Marvel was supposed to be out looking for a director to take on the challenge of bringing the character to life for the big screen.
Today screenwriter Zak Penn gave a big hint on his twitter feed that he might also be working on Doctor Strange in the near future. Penn has worked on films such as The Avengers (before Joss Whedon re-wrote it), Elektra, X-Men: The Last Stand and The Incredible Hulk. Here's what he had to say when he was asked whether he would work on another superhero movie,
yes, eventually. Might do something very strange later this year.
I don't know about you but I'd say that is a pretty solid hint at what he might be working on. Why else would he say that? Unless he was just screwing around with the fans to see what would happen.
As a huge fan of Doctor Strange, I'm just happy to see the the project is still moving forward. I can't wait to see who marvel hires to direct the movie, and who they end up casting in the lead role. I'll be honest though... I'm not really excited for any of these screenwriters to be working on the project. The best one on the list is The Incredible Hulk, but I'm not sure if I trust Strange in the hands of these guys... what do you think?
Ok, so Zak Penn has confirmed that he will not be writting Dr. Strange. Here's what he tweeted...
No, I'm not writing Dr. strange to those who asked. I meant strange literally, no caps.
The movie still has a script, and is in the process of slowly being developed though. One day we will see a Dr. Strange movie Penn just wont be a part of it, and I'm OK with that.
