Steve Carell Looking to Join ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY

Steve Carell might end up jumping on board the feature film live-action adaptation of the classic kids book, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. The movie is being developed by writer/director Lisa Cholodenko who also made the film The Kids Are All Right. The actor is currently in discussions with 20th Century Fox, and if he ends up taking it he'll take on the role of Ben.

The story was written by Judith Viorst, and it follows a young boy who endures a frustrating day that begins with him waking up to find gum in his hair and ends with him threatening to move to Australia. Other characters include Alexander's two older brothers and their parents.

This could be a fun movie for Carell to be a part of. I enjoyed this book when I was growing up, and I think it has potential to be entertaining flick. What do you think about Carell possibly taking on a role in this movie?

Here's a short description of the book:

Alexander knew it was going to be a terrible day when he woke up with gum in this hair.

And it got worse...

His best friend deserted him. There was no dessert in his lunch bag. And, on top of all that, there were lima beans for dinner and kissing on TV!
