Two Unannounced Marvel Movies in the Works! What Could they Be?
This weekend The Avengers broke the $1 billion dollar box office mark, and the money is still rolling in. I think there's a very good chance it will take over Avatar as box office king. We will know soon enough. Marvel has become one of the biggest movie money makers that Hollywood has seen, and this is only the beginning!
We already knew that the studio was developing sequels to Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, but Marvel President Kevin Feige reveals that they are developing two other films that have yet to be officially announced! We've already heard about one of these unannounced projects, but now there's another one added to the mix. Here's what he had to say in a recent interview with Bloomberg...
We want to do two films a year. Avengers is our only film this year, but in a week and a half we begin filming Iron Man 3. By the end of the summer we’ll be working on the next Thor film, early next year the next Captain America film. Those are the three we’ve announced so far; we’ve got two beyond that that we haven’t announced yet, but we’re working on.
As far as release dates go this is what we know.
- May 3rd 2013 – Iron Man 3
- November 15th 2013 – Thor 2
- April 4th 2014 – Captain America 2
- May 16th 2014 – Untitled Marvel Movie #1
This is interesting as I also recently saw a casting report on AICN that shows Disney is casting for a Marvel Film in London. Here's what that says....
We are starting to cast for a new blockbuster feature film about one of the Marvel super heroes.
Filming will be starting this summer.
Role 1: Muscular males and females
We are looking for males and females with athletic and muscular body frames from any ethnic background.
Requirements:
-you must have a Muscular or athletic body frame.
-You must have easy access to London
So what could these movies be? Ant Man? Hulk? Dr. Strange? One of them could easily be the sequel to The Avengers. I would love to see the two films end up being the Edgar Wright scripted Ant Man and Dr. Strange because Dr. Strange would be surprisingly awesome. However, I think it'll end up being Ant Man and The Avengers 2. The fact that they are casting in London could be anything, they could be casting for Iron Man 3, Ant Man, or Thor.
