Eli Roth to Direct THE GREEN INFERNO

Movie Eli Roth by Joey Paur

After five years of producing, writing and acting, Hostel director Eli Roth will get back behind the camera to direct a horror thriller that he wrote with Guillermo Amoedo called The Green Inferno. No story details have been revealed yet, but the filmmaker says it was inspired by filming in Chile.

It doesn't sound like it will be the big budget sci-fi film he's been trying to get off the ground over the last few years. He described that one as "along the lines of Transformers or Cloverfield that was a little more science fiction-based, and with lots of chaos and mass destruction."

The last film Roth directed was 2007's Hostel Part II, and he just finished starring in an earthquake thriller called Aftershock for director Nicolás López. I'm not the biggest fan of Roth's work, the Hostel movies just didn't appeal to me. I'm still interested in seeing what this Green Inferno turns out to be. Do you have any ideas of what this new film might be about?
