See Bill Murray as FDR in the First Trailer for HYDE PARK ON HUDSON

Who would have ever thought back in the 80's that we'd see comedian Bill Murray play President Franklin D. Roosevelt, but he pulls it off brilliantly. Murray is one of my favorite actors working today, and this looks like it will be a great film.

The film was directed by Roger Michell (Morning Glory,Notting Hill) from a script written by Richard Nelson and the story takes place in June 1939, and recounts the love affair between the president and his distant cousin, Margaret Stuckley. At the same time the president is hosting the British King and Queen at his upstate New York cottage, in the first-ever visit to America by a member of the United Kingdom monarchy.

Here's the Synopsis:

In June 1939, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor host the King and Queen of England for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York -- the first-ever visit of a reigning English monarch to America. With Britain facing imminent war with Germany, the Royals are desperately looking to FDR for support. But international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR's domestic establishment, as wife, mother, and mistresses all conspire to make the royal weekend an unforgettable one.

Seen through the eyes of Daisy, Franklin's neighbor and intimate, the weekend will produce not only a special relationship between two great nations, but, for Daisy -- and through her, for us all -- a deeper understanding of the mysteries of love and friendship.

The movie comes out on December 7th, 2012. Watch the trailer and tell us what you thnk!
