Baseball Horror Comic SULLIVAN'S SLUGGERS Heading to the Big Screen

Movie by Joey Paur

There's a very cool sounding horror concept being adapted from a graphic novel to the big screen! It's a horror story that centers on baseball, and it's called Sullivan's Sluggers.

The comic was created by Mark Andrew Smith and James Stokoe who describes the story as "Major League meets Zombieland and then some.” The story follows a has-been baseball manager named Casey Sullivan and his dysfunctional minor league Sluggers who get an invitation to play a small venue game. Soon enough, they find themselves fighting for their lives against a town of shape-shifting monsters on a feeding frenzy and the has-beens and wannabes must use long-forgotten skills of teamwork to get out alive.

The 200-page graphic novel is being sold by the creators through the popular online fundraising company Kickstarter.com. They ended up raising six times their pledge goal in the first five days, which is a pretty impressive feat. A trio of producers including Todd Garner, Adam Herz and Joshua Shader liked the story so much that they're adapting it into a feature film. They went on to describe it as being described is as a homage to the works of Sam Raimi and Goerge Romero due to its mix of horror and laughs.

Tom and Tim Mullen have been hired to write the script. Do you think this sounds like an entertaining story that will make for a good film?

Here's the Synopsis:

Long past their former glory, the minor league Sluggers get an invitation to play a baseball game in a cursed small town. After the 7th inning stretch, the sun goes down, and the dysfunctional teammates find themselves fighting for their lives against a town of flesh-eating monsters!

Now, it's up to coach Casey Sullivan to help his team escape from being the next dish in the town's terrifying feeding frenzy!

Eisner & Harvey Award-winning graphic novel author Mark Andrew Smith joins forces with Eisner nominated illustrator James Stokoe for a gripping roller coaster of a graphic novel, packed with shocks, gore, and screamingly outrageous humor, when America's Favorite Past Time becomes one team's ultimate nightmare!
