Nick Frost Tries To Impress Rashida Jones in CUBAN FURY

How's the old saying go? "If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't, it never was." For comedian Nick Frost (Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz), the saying should go: if you think of an idea for a romantic comedy, let it be produced by U.K.'s Big Talk Pictures. If it comes back to you, it's yours to star in. If it doesn't... well, I cant think of how to make it apply to this one.
Alongside Rashida Jones, Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), and Olivia Colman (Hot Fuzz), Frost will star in Cuban Fury, a rom-com he originally thought up.
Frost will play Bruce Garrett, a former salsa dancer who puts his dancing shoes back on in order to impress his "smart, funny, gorgeous" new American boss (Jones). O'Dowd will play Bruce's co-worker/rival Drew, and Coleman will play Bruce's sister, who urges the former dancer to return to the dance floor.
Here's what Frost said about the idea for the story:
My aim with Cuban Fury was to make a romantic comedy with fiery salsa at its heart. I wanted to show people that sometimes it's not about a perfect nose and abs of steel, sometimes passion, soul and fire is enough. And in case you're wondering yes, I'll do all my own dancing.
Cheers to the average joe with fiery heart! Producer Nira Park revealed his other thought process behind the idea:
When I received an email from Nick Frost which read, 'How would you feel if I said we should do a film where I DANCE A LOT. Imagine me in tightly fitted sequinned garments with a lot of slow-mo,' I said, 'I want the poster for that movie on my wall now!'
Me too! Super solid cast. Pretty good premise... I'll back it. The rom-com was scripted by Jon Brown (Miranda, Misfits) and will be the big screen directorial debut for James Griffiths. They will begin filming in June with an aim for a 2013 release.
Are you ready to see Frost shake his salsa maker?
