David Slade Set to Direct VILLAIN

Movie David Slade by Joey Paur

Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night director David Slade has signed on to direct a new psychological thriller called Villain. The movie was written by Josh Zetumer (Robocop), and follows two brothers as they confront their dark past in an unforgiving wilderness. I wish I knew a little bit more about the film, but I like Slade as a director. I'm sure it will be a good project for him to develop.

The movie is being produced by Ben Browning who says,

David is a brilliant director with an eye for gritty, dark thrillers. He's the perfect match for Josh's phenomenal script and we are confident that we will draw top-tier talent to the project in the coming weeks.

The film is being developed at Wayfare Entertainment who recently closed a deal to produce an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's fantasy novel The Graveyard Bookfor Disney. They also are currently in post-production on Sebastian Cordero's The Europa Report starring Sharlto Copley. Shooting for the film is scheduled to take place in Alaska.
