FRANKENWEENIE - New Photos and Details from Tim Burton's Film
Tim Burton recently screened 26 minutes of his black and white 3D stop-motion animated movie Frankenweenie. Unfortunately we didn't attend, but several other websites did. Some new pictures and details have been released for the film, which is a feature-length version of a fantastic short film he made in the 80s about a boy who brings his dead dog back to life.
There's also an amazingly awesome dark twist that's been revealed about the film that I absolutely love. According to our friends at /Film, this is going to be revealed in the future marketing for the movie, but for those of you who want to be surprised I've included the details after the photos below.
Here's the Synopsis:
After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.
The movie is scheduled to come out on October 5th, check out the picture and the awesome little plot twist below!
Here's the spoilerish twist as explained by /Film:
In the film, once the town realizes what Victor has done – reanimate his dog – all the kids decide they want to do the same thing. What happens is all their dead pets come back to life, but none of them are as sweet at Sparky, the main character. They’re evil, vicious, and in some cases, huge monsters. Frankenweenie goes from being a story about a boy who loves his dog mixed with Frankenstein to a huge battle between the kids of the town and their reanimated, dead monster pets.
I love it, and now I'm even more excited about the movie!
