Kristen Stewart looks to have caught the action bug from starring in Snow White and the Huntsman. Variety reports that she is set to star in a "gritty action pic" for Nick Cassavetes' (The Notebook, Alpha Dog). Michael Dilberti penned the script, which follows "a pair of San Fernando Valley lovebirds who sell a fake snuff film and ride off with a bundle of cash. Years later, the girl (Stewart) must 'return from the dead' to save the younger sister she left behind."
Stewart will get her first producers credit on this film, which is being produced by Voltage Prods. and New School Media. Craig J. Flores (300) and Zev Foreman (Killer Joe) are producing along with Diliberti. Brian Levy is exec producing with Nicolas Chartier and Stewart. The film will be sold at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
Here is what Foreman had to say about the project:
Nick's the perfect director for this gritty, L.A.-based story and will smartly balance the dynamic action with a true love story. Nick's record of working with top talent continues here in his collaboration with Kristen Stewart.
This sounds like a great project for Stewart. I am liking the direction Robert Pattinson is headed in with David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, and this seems to be along the same lines. Do you think that Snow White and Cali could win over the Stewart haters?
