Plot Description for THE GREAT WALL Reveals Inhuman Dangers

Movie by Joey Paur

Last year it was announced that director Edward Zwick (Glory, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond) is developing a movie with Henry Cavill (Man of Steel) called The Great Wall. All we knew up until today is that the movie is being planned as a "globally-appealing adventure movie that reveals the legend behind a great mystery of our age: why this magnificent structure came to be."

Today we've learned that there's a little bit more to the feature film tale of the construction of The Great Wall of China. Here's a new plot synopsis for the film revealing a supernatural story element,

Set in 15th century China, The Great Wall is about British warriors who happen upon the hurried construction of the massive wall. As night falls, the warriors realize that the haste in building the wall isn’t just to keep out the Mongols — there is something inhuman and more dangerous. The picture is based on an idea by Legendary CEO Thomas Tull and Max Brooks.

The construction of The Great Wall is interesting enough, but throwing in some ancient supernatural elements could be pretty cool. Zwick is a fantastic director that has made some great movies in his career, so I'm excited to see what he ends up creating with this.

The movie will star production next spring, and it also will star Benjamin Walker (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and Zhang Ziyi. What do you think about Zwick's new film project?
