CABIN FEVER Will Be Rebooted with Sean Astin

Movie by Joey Paur

Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin is set to star in a reboot of Eli Roth's Cabin Fever for Indomina, which seems like one of the most pointless reboots in the history of film. I can see why studios would want to reboot some movies, whether I like the idea or hate it, I can see why. But a reboot of Cabin Fever??? What in the hell is the point?

According to THR the story follows "a bachelor party cruise in the Caribbean unexpectedly runs ashore on a medical research island and a deadly virus is unleashed. The passengers must struggle to find a way to survive before their own demons and the flesh-eating bacteria consumes them all."

The movie will be called Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, and it will start shooting August 13th in the Dominican Republic. The movie is being directed by comic book artist Kaare Andrews from a screenplay written by Jake Wade Wall (The HitcherWhen a Stranger Calls). The cast also includes Brando Eaton (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel) and Ben Hollingsworth (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules).

This wont be the last Cabin Fever movie we see either, Indomnia plans to make a sequel called Cabin Fever: Outbreak, which will be shot on the Caribbean island as well.

This is such a terrible idea, and I imagine that it won't go past going straight to DVD. I'll be shocked if it does. What do you think about Cabin Fever getting the old reboot?
